The National Lottery airs on ITV for the first time – and it receives mixed reactions from viewers

The National Lottery has moved from the BBC to ITV – and the new format resulted in some mixed reactions
from viewers.
Hosted by Stephen Mulhern, the lotto numbers were announced during an ad break for Britain's Got Talent.
While some praised the decision to squeeze what used to be an entire show into a 90-second slot, others were either annoyed or confused by it.
By airing The National Lottery in the middle of one of the most watched, primetime TV shows, the idea is to make the numbers as visible as possible to viewers (and presumably flog a few more tickets).
"Now, it's going to be even easier to check your lucky numbers, because we'll be showing them every week right here in the ITV and STV ad breaks on Saturday nights," said Mulhern at the start of the ad.
They then hurtled through the numbers, which were announced by the voices of people around the UK for the first time.
If this change of format was too much of a whirlwind for some viewers, they may not be able to keep up at all with next week's edition.
"The Lottery is going to get even more exciting next week, because we're going to take it on tour," said Mulhern.
"For the next six weeks we'll be bringing you the lotto numbers from National Lottery-funded locations around the UK."
Britain's Got Talent airs at 8.30pm on ITV.
